Textiles solutions provider Polartec has two new collaborations set to roll out.
Polartec is working with American Giant, the U.S.-made company behind the “greatest hoodie ever made” for the Atlas Fleece Jacket for men and women. By using Polartec’s Power Stretch Pro fabric, American Giant has been able to evolve their product offering and created a product that looks like a premium cotton sweatshirt with the increased comfort and durability of a technical fabric. Unlike a classic fleece that can be bulky and fuzzy on both sides, the Atlas Fleece Jacket prioritizes durability, freedom of movement, and a smooth face for ease of layering.
The partnership marks the first collaboration between the two American brands. American Giant and Polartec said they share the belief that quality matters, that making things locally matters and that cheap isn’t always better. Fabric for the Atlas Fleece Jacket is knit in Cleveland, Tenn., and the garment is cut and sewn in Chicago.
“The Atlas Fleece brings the technical leadership of the outdoor industry to American Giant customers,” the companies said. “Combining the expertise of American-made clothing with the best-in-class fabric, this jacket is built with quality that will stand the test of time. To us, sustainability doesn’t just mean using recycled materials. It also means investing in premium pieces that can be worn for decades and passed down.”
The Atlas Fleece Jacket launches Nov. 30 and sells for $198. Made from Polartec’s Power Stretch Pro materials, the Atlas Fleece offers four-way stretch to meet the push and pull of any outdoor activity, with strong shape recovery. Its dual surface combines a warm, plush, moisture-wicking brushed polyester interior and a smooth and soft yet durable and abrasion-resistant nylon exterior that provides light weather resistance.
The jackets are quick-drying and highly breathable, with a versatile aesthetic. The women’s styles come in black and vintage tulip, while the men’s is available in black and silver pine.
For Fall, Reigning Champ continues its longstanding partnership with Polartec with their first complete collection together, comprising training and lifestyle products, using a range of breathable fabric technologies for performance-driven versatility.
Manufactured entirely in Reigning Champ’s Vancouver-based facility, the capsule collection features a range of Polartec material innovations–Power Air, Power Wool, Power Dry, Thermal Pro and Power Stretch Pro– harnessing the strengths of advanced fibers to create highly functional, technologically sound athletic wear.
Priced from $80 to $420, this limited release will be available at all Reigning Champ stores, as well as End Clothing, Backcountry, Browns, Blends, Nordstrom, Ron Herman Japan, Martin Patrick and Worksout Korea, and online at endclothing.com, mrporter.com, and reigningchamp.com.
