Teijin Frontier Expands Collection of Fiber-Based Cosmetic Products

Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd., Teijin Group’s fiber products converting company, announced Monday it has expanded its collection of cosmetic products made with the group’s fiber technologies. The new products include a soft cotton puff, oil-blotting handkerchief and comfortable, hygienic shoe insoles. The new products are an expansion of the Bijinkakumei series that the company launched in September 2013.

The soft cotton puff, effective for removing makeup and lotions and cleansing the skin, features a unique surface that is laminated with Teijin’s Nanofront polyester fiber for extra softness. An oil-blotting handkerchief is also made with Nanofront, which helps absorb waxy, oil on the skin and enhances keratin care. The handkerchief also offers a soft texture and is compact in size.

The comfortable, hygienic shoe insoles are made with rayon fibers, which are infused with skin-friendly minerals found in sulfur springs. These minerals absorb moisture and diminish bacteria. The insoles also feature a slip-proof back helping them stay in place inside the shoe.

“Teijin Frontier will continue to expand the Bijinkakumei series,” president Tetsushi Takenaka said. “Through sales at cosmetic and drug stores, we intend to establish Bijinkakumei as a popular brand. We expect to realize 50 million yen in sales in the current fiscal year ending in March 2015.”

The new products are now available at the company’s own Sesame lifestyle shops and other retail stores in Japan and Taiwan, where other Bijinkakumei items are sold. Teijin Frontier plans to sell its cosmetic products in other markets around the world in the future.
