Wellman Introduces New Eco-Fine Fiber Range

Fiber technology developer Wellman International Limited has launched a new line of eco-fine fibers made from European post consumer recycled feedstock, strengthening its position as the largest polyester staple fiber producer and PET recycler in Europe.

The fiber will be officially introduced at Heimtextil 2015 in Frankfurt, Germany taking place this Jan. 14-17.

According to Nonwovens Industry, Wellman will feature its eco-fine 1.7 siliconized, a premium uniquely sustainable product with enhanced drapability and a silk-like hand, ideal for bedding and apparel applications. The range compliments Wellman’s eco-core fiber filling products with the potential for coverstock productions, offering a complete package to the customer. The launch of ‘eco-fine’ fibers, broadens Wellman’s fiber decitex range capability from 44 decitex to 1.7 decitex.

The company will also feature its specialized Cirrus and Celliant fiber ranges at the Heimtextil show, which offer functionality in vapor management and body energy optimization to promote full and sound sleep.

Wellman works to bring creative, performance-oriented, sustainable solutions to the market and its raw material and fiber production processes are supported by an independent life cycle assessment (LCA) study validating it as an accredited and sustainable fiber option.
