Located in Bellevue Place, the Avocado Experience Center was designed to reflect the ideal version of a home: warm, welcoming, comfortable, inclusive. The store showcases the B Corp’s natural mattresses and furniture, as well as apparel from the company’s sustainable fashion line Hass, and Reed + Gwen’s clean beauty products.
Hoboken, N.J.-based Avocado opened its first Experience Center in March on Fifth Avenue in New York City, complete with the company’s audiovisual Sleep Experience, a 4D immersive demonstration that reflects what a night’s sleep feels like on an Avocado mattress, while showcasing the story behind the brand’s materials.
The Seattle location includes the Sleep Experience, and follows the same model of the NYC location with staff focused on offering information as opposed to sales since they’re not paid on commission.
“We are extremely excited to be opening this new Avocado Experience Showroom,” said Brett Thornton, vice president of retail for Avocado, which produces mattress its own California factory form GOTS-certified materials. “We’ve developed a unique shopping experience that is unlike anything in our industry. Our new showroom will carry on the same tradition of our other locations: a pressure free retail space where customers can relax and learn more about Avocado Green Brands.”
As part of Avocado’s commitment to 1% For the Planet, the company will donate 1 percent of all its sales at the new location, as well as other locations and online, to vetted nonprofits.
