Bloomingdale’s to Open Outlet Store in Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Manhattan’s Upper West Side will soon be home to the first Bloomingdale’s Outlet store in a major urban center.

Macy’s Inc., which operates Bloomingdale’s, announced Thursday that it will open the outlet format of the high-end retailer at 2085 Broadway this fall. The 25,000 square-foot spot will be the 14th Bloomingdale’s Outlet store, and will offer off-price apparel and accessories including women’s ready-to-wear, men’s, children’s, women’s shoes, fashion accessories, jewelry, handbags and intimate apparel, all marked at 35-70 percent off.

“This is a premier, flagship location for Bloomingdale’s Outlet at one of the busiest intersections in Manhattan, and with a major subway located just footsteps away,” said Tony Spring, Bloomingdale’s chairman and CEO. “This is a great opportunity to expand the reach of our brand to value-conscious customers as well as better serve the expansive needs of our core west side customers. We look forward to serving this thriving and diverse neighborhood where so many shoppers are already well acquainted with the unique offering of Bloomingdale’s.

The Bloomingdale’s Outlet concept originated in 2010, and there are now 13 locations across the country, including one at The Gallery at Westbury Plaza in Garden City, New York and another at Bergen Town Center in Paramus, New Jersey.

Spring said, “We see Bloomingdale’s Outlet as a growth vehicle for our company as we continue to refine and roll out stores based on our learnings over the past several years.”
