The California retailer unveiled its latest collection with the two reality stars Friday. Slated to arrive July 8, Kendall & Kylie’s Exclusive Collection will feature button downs, big tees, slip-on dresses and tank tops—“items we love to throw on during the hot summer days,” the Jenner sisters said.
“We love the seasonal transition into spring/summer,” the duo said in a statement. “We wanted to honor the change by including neutral tones and softly adding brighter colors as well. Of course, as the weather heats up we wanted the collection to work for those warmer days and nights. We’re big fans of 90’s dressing and have fun mixing feminine pieces with oversized styles.”
PacSun’s overall Summer 2021 campaign, unveiled earlier this year, is focusing on the retailer’s relatively new gender-free category. Items include a button-down sweater, checkered jeans, sweatpants, tees, hoodies and shorts. The broader summer lineup also features indigo denim and a new Playboy tennis-inspired prep capsule for women and nylon cargoes, active shorts and crew neck hoodies for men.
The youth-centered company took a further step toward expanding its gender-free category last month when it announced the winners of its Gender-Neutral Design Competition. Selected from more than 200 applicants, the two young designers will help craft a pair of co-branded, gender-neutral collections for the upcoming holiday season.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner have significantly expanded their fashion empire since they first partnered with PacSun nearly a decade ago. These efforts include the launch of Kendall + Kylie, the sisters’ joint apparel brand. Last fall, the power duo threw its weight behind Amazon’s influencer-focused offshoot The Drop. The Kendall + Kylie x The Drop collection included vegan leather shorts, cropped cardigans, pearl-embellished sweatshirts, puff-sleeve tees and bodysuits.
Kylie Jenner also appears to be pursuing her own swimwear business. The 23-year-old beauty mogul filed to trademark the terms Kylie Swim and Kylie Swim by Kylie Jenner last month. The filings cover swimwear, cover-ups, headwear, tops as clothing, bottoms as clothing, footwear and robes, as well as a broad range of accessories.
