Re/Done, Rebecca Minkoff, Christy Dawn Coming to ‘Conscious’ Klarna Popup

Pay-in-installments provider Klarna is popping up in Los Angeles with a conscious curation of fashion and beauty brands.

On July 23-24, the Klarna Oasis popup on Melrose Ave. will showcase brands including Lunya, Re/Done, Rebecca Minkoff‘s vegan leather line, Christy Dawn and lingerie label Pepper, which says it ethically manufactures bras for small-cup wearers. Lab-grown diamond purveyor Vrai, clean cosmetics makers Westman Atelier and Kjaer Weis, Ayurvedic skincare brand Avya and The Detox Market will also participate in the two-day event.

Participating brands will offer Klarna users discounts at the popup and online with the sole exception of Vrai, and consumers will be able to pay in four installments using the fintech’s app. Consumers can earn on-site discounts by donating good-condition pre-worn clothing and footwear to partner Soles4Souls.

The two-day pop-up event will feature 10 brands across the apparel and beauty spaces.

“We’re excited to bring the smooth Klarna shopping experience to life for the first time in Los Angeles, spotlighting mission-driven merchant partners that support a range of important causes from sustainability in fashion to clean beauty,” global head of partner success Raji Behal.

Behal said it’s imperative Klarna leverages its reach to guide customers toward sustainable offerings, as the company is “working to make a difference.”

Christy Dawn, a Los Angeles-based womenswear brand creating fashion from upcycled materials, deadstock fabrics, and regenerative cotton grown on brand-leased land in India, is offering popup attendees 15 percent off.  “We believe that all shopping should be conscious-shopping and Klarna Oasis allows consumers to make more educated purchasing decisions,” co-founding CEO Aras Baskauskas said.  “What’s more, we love knowing that by partnering with Klarna, we’re providing our Christy Dawn community with a new and easy way to shop regeneratively.”

Klarna plans to host a fireside chat Saturday about the importance of regenerative agriculture featuring Baskauskas, Behal, and Jasmyne Spencer, a professional soccer player for Angel City Football Club, of which Klarna is a founding partner.
