MeUndies Assembles Marvel-Themed Underwear, Loungewear

With the debut of Disney+’s WandaVision TV show now just days away, fans can prepare to celebrate the long-delayed return of Marvel’s Avengers with superhero-themed underwear and loungewear.

On Tuesday, MeUndies debuted a collection of Marvel-themed basics including a onesie, shorts, T-shirts, socks and, of course, a wide assortment of underwear. For those with a furry friend, the lineup also offers a dog hoodie and a pet bandana.

The collection, made with the direct-to-consumer brand’s’ “natural, softer-than-soft MicroModal fabric,” features a repeating print with symbols assembling some of Marvel’s most famous Avengers, including Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Captain America, Black Panther and Ant-Man.

“Marvel Avengers fans all over the world have been inspired by the way characters use their unique power or strength for good, to help those around them succeed,” Jeremy Lowenstein, chief marketing officer of MeUndies, told Sourcing Journal. “At MeUndies, we know that being true to yourself is a superpower in itself. Encouraging people to embrace their individuality and express their authentic self is core to our brand and this limited-edition collection celebrates both the Avengers and the hero in each of us.”

Founded in 2011, MeUndies designs ultra-soft basics for men and women. Customers can purchase products individually or through the MeUndies membership program, which offers discounted pricing, flexible order and delivery options, and early access to new collections.

Private equity investor Anthony Choe and his firm Provenance acquired a minority stake in MeUndies late last year. The $40 million investment, the firm said at the time, was engineered to help the brand expand its design, production and distribution capabilities, as well as build its online customer community and expand omnichannel operations into international markets and physical locations.

On the other side of the comic book aisle, DC’s Wonder Woman made her cinematic return last month when “Wonder Woman 1984” arrived in theaters and on HBO Max Christmas Day. To celebrate the premiere, Warner Bros. teamed up with Biion Footwear to whip up two pairs of Wonder Woman slip-on shoes—one for the kids and one for adults. Inspired by the Amazon princess’ iconic costume, the shoes feature a ruby red body with the classic golden “W” emblem and star-spangled pattern splashed across the toebox, complementing a white midsole and yellow outsole.
