Fashion police can now rejoice: Tyco Retail Solutions, a leading provider of retail performance and security solutions, announced its new Sensormatic Acousto-Magnetic hard tag for high heel shoes aimed at lowering the risk of theft without disrupting the buying experience.

Backed by Sensormatic Acousto-Magnetic technology, which emits a single frequency signal when the device is outside its designated zone, the reusable tag easily secures to the back of any heel or pump. With an adjustable knob, its non-invasive, sleek design affords shoppers optimal comfortable and fit.

Nancy Chisholm, Tyco Retail Solutions vice president and general manager, said, “The only tag of its kind, our new anti-theft tag for footwear serves as a strong visual deterrent to would be thieves and ensures merchandise is optimally protected while preserving the bottom line.”

The tagging solution was developed to help guard the “difficult to protect” category in a shopper friendly design. Ladies’ footwear is one of the most theft-prone items in retail today, especially for discounters, mass merchants and hypermarkets.

To date, effective anti-theft tagging solutions had not been available for high heels or shoes without a buckle or eyelet, which an Electronic Article Surveillance tag could attach to. The Sensormatic tag fills that security gap, allowing retailers to keep stock on the sales floor with confidence.
