Even though men may not in actuality wear their performance dress shirt from the office onto the basketball court, the garment would be equipped to handle the transition.
Spain-based apparel company, Style & Tech, is looking to help revolutionize the performance apparel game with its new line of anti-odor, moisture wicking and UV protective men’s shirts. The company recently initiated a Kickstarter campaign for its innovative shirts—where people have pledged more than $8,000 to its $11,766 goal.
“Style & Tech was born of combining experience and passion; accumulated experience of four family generations dedicated to the clothing industry, passion for fashion and passion for technology,” Style & Tech’s website notes. “The shirt is the essence of male dress and this collection seeks to offer shirts that rise to the challenge of the times in which we live.”
Style & Tech is trying to minimize the inconvenience of changing clothes throughout the day with its shirts. The shirt features what the company considers a timeless design, two-way stretch fabric, quick-drying capabilities and anti-odor technology, among other characteristics. Designed with the same technology that has been used in police uniforms and outdoor wear, the shirt could work for men who commute regularly and attend multiple functions a day. The shirt is also certified by environmental organizations, including the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and other textile compliance authorities, including Oeko-Tex.
High-performance traits enable the shirt to keep the body comfortable throughout the day. The company uses patented Coolmax yarn fibers—special performance fibers that wick away moisture to keep the body cool—for the shirts and the unique fabric construction also enables the wearer to maintain a comfortable body temperature regardless of physical movement. For extended use, Style & Tech added Lycra to the shirts so wearers can still benefit from the shirts’ performance qualities after multiple washes.

Protective technology is also part of Style & Tech’s unique apparel offering. Anti-odor technology in the shirts means they don’t absorb odor and can stay fresh without frequent laundering. Patented fabric from Sanitized AG, a worldwide antimicrobial textile company, also helps the shirts to stay clean and smelling fresh. What’s more, Style & Tech’s shirts also contain a built-in UPF of 50+ to protect wearers from the sun.
Retailing from $93 and up, the high-tech performance shirt comes in four different fits, eight designs and is available in 20 different sizes. Those who back Style & Tech’s Kickstarter campaign can customize their own shirt by fit, size and style, and they can choose their design in a survey after the campaign ends on Nov. 22.
The shirts are expected to be ready to ship by May 2018.
