
Infor is gaining a new ally and providing more solutions for global retailers.
The business applications provider announced Tuesday its acquisition of Predictix, a company that provides cloud-native, machine-learning and predictive solutions for retailers. Predictix’s applications claim to help retailers solve problems with next-generation data science and big data analytics.
Six months ago, Infor invested $25 million in Predictix, became a Predictix reseller and infused Predictix into the development of Infor CloudSuite Retail, a cloud-based retail management solution that supports all types of retailing on a global scale, including brick-and-mortar, mobile and online.
Predictix also helps Infor enhance Cloud Suite Retail with modules that support demand forecasting, merchandise financial planning, assortment planning/category management, network flow optimization and allocation and markdown optimization.
In addition, Infor will benefit Predictix with its innovative retail software and business strategy tools.
Infor’s acquisition of Predictix is timely with the company’s growth incentives as it plans to expand its retail business unit into Europe. To date, more than 1,500 retail and fashion customers in Europe use Infor, including Carrefour, Christian Louboutin and Schiesser.
