Klarna Partners With Delivering Good on Thankfulness Initiative

In observance of Giving Tuesday, many companies in the industry had an opportunity to show some generosity.

As part of its “thankfulness” giveaway program held over Thanksgiving weekend, global payments provider and shopping service Klarna on Tuesday revealed a $50,000 donation to Delivering Good, a nonprofit organization that unites retailers, manufacturers, foundations and individuals to support people affected by poverty and tragedy.

To foster a spirit of generosity over Thanksgiving and to support those in need throughout the holidays, Klarna hosted a “thankfulness” giveaway, inviting shoppers to share on Instagram what they were thankful for. For every comment and share made through Nov. 30, Klarna made an additional donation to Delivering Good.

“Klarna is proud to continue our partnership with Delivering Good, supporting their efforts to deliver hope, dignity and joy to people in need,” said David Sykes, head of U.S. operations at Klarna. “We appreciate all of the positive feedback we received from our U.S. shoppers over Thanksgiving weekend, as this donation allows us to make a positive impact by helping those affected by poverty and tragedy during this challenging year.”

Klarna has donated more than $100,000 to Delivering Good this year. Delivering Good partners with a global network of local agencies to provide donated items to millions of families and individuals worldwide who have been directly impacted by natural disasters, Covid-19, homelessness and other challenges. Klarna served as one of the platinum sponsors of Delivering Good’s fundraising gala event in November and made an initial donation of $50,000. The event was designed to raise funds to allow Delivering Good to continue distributing more than $200 million in donations of new clothing and essentials received since the beginning of 2020.
