Nason Launches Online Catalog of 3-D CAD Models

Calling all American manufacturers: Need new machine parts but don’t have time to comb through reams of paper catalogs in search of what you’re looking for? South Carolina-based Nason has presented a new solution.

Rather than expecting its customers to make-do with what’s available, the company this week launched an interactive product configurator and 3-D CAD model downloader, powered by Cadenas PartSolutions, that caters to their requirements instead.

Moreover, clients of the hydraulic and pneumatic component maker will no longer have to call or e-mail to request specific products for their designs or to ask for 3-D previews.

According to Nason, this online catalog will make it easier for its clients to visualize the variety of configurations available for every product, as well as specify and integrate those products into their designs.

“Our paper catalog couldn’t properly convey the variety of product options we offer,” Bill Sanders, director of sales and marketing at Nason, said. “On products where our competition will offer four or five mechanical connections and a few electrical connections, we have 91 different mechanical connection options and 68 different electrical connections.”

“Nason has a reputation as the company who makes the crazy stuff—the special or one-off products which other manufacturers just won’t make,” Rob Zesch, president and chief operating officer of Cadenas PartSolutions, a provider of 3-D part catalog management and sales configuration solutions, noted. “Now that reputation will be evident for engineers and designers who now have access to thousands of possible configurations. Combined with Nason’s customer service and no minimum order quantity for custom products, their customers will be ecstatic.”
