Optitex Launches Enhanced Version of its Virtual Prototyping Software

Optitex, a leading software solutions provider is now offering expanded 2D and 3D capabilities and improved workflow in the latest version of its market-leading 2D and 3D CAD/CAM and virtual prototyping software.

Version 12.3 comes equipped with a new Printed Fabric Tool, integrated into Optitex Pattern Design Software (PDS), that significantly improves the design and development workflow for garments that use printed fabrics. The tool enables designers and pattern makers to see how the printed image will lay on the garment, make necessary adjustments and immediately view the effects of each change. Similarly, with the Optitex 3D Suite, users can make changes on the 2D pattern or 3D model and see results simultaneously.

The company said these developments increase pattern design accuracy for any garment that uses printed fabric, and eliminates the time and costs of creating physical samples.

The new version also includes Roll Management, a new optional module available for Optitex CutPlan, which gives cutting room managers the ability to integrate roll inventory data into the order cutting process. The module helps optimize utilization of inventory fabric according to user-defined priorities, and assigns individual rolls of fabric to specific pattern makers to meet order requirements while maintaining inventory management goals. Usage data gleaned from the module can be exported to a spreadsheet to update the inventory control system.
