This Software Solution Helps Online Retailers Offer “Amazon-Like” Returns

Digital purchasing journeys are not always seamless, however a new software solution aims to help online retailers improve the returns process.

ReadyCloud CRM, a cross channel customer relationship management (CRM) solution announced that ReadyReturns, its automated online product returns software, is now part of the UPS Customer Technology Program (CTP), a streamlined shipping service offered by UPS.

With ReadyReturns, online retailers can offer fully automated returns to their consumers, allowing them to process a return from any smartphone, computer or tablet in less than 60 seconds. ReadyReturns is compatible with most popular web hosts and online shopping cart services with no coding required. If online retailers qualify for the UPS CTP, they could get ReadyReturns added to their websites for up to three years at full or partially subsidized pricing. With ReadyReturns, online retailers can help consumers make faster returns and maintain efficient operations.

Online retailers can arrange their own ReadyReturns rules via an administrative panel, where they can determine ineligible return items, return by dates and return shipping and restocking fees. With the software, consumers can add images, including a scanned receipt or a defective product photo and enter in a reason for returning the items. ReadyReturns also has a customizable interface that enables online retailers to select individual color themes to match their existing logos and branding.

To use ReadyReturns, consumers can revisit the e-commerce platform where they made the original purchase and enter their order number to begin processing a return. ReadyReturns allows them to choose the products they are returning, define why they returned their products and attach an image if necessary. In less than a minute, the consumer receives a prepaid UPS return shipping label and Google Maps information on where they can find the nearest UPS drop-off location.

“Studies have found that more than 50 percent of shoppers want an easier way to return products they buy online and 86 percent want a return shipping label provided by the retailer,” Michael Lazar, executive director of marketing at ReadyCloud, said. “ReadyReturns bridges this gap by making online returns truly hassle-free for the consumer.”
