Study Says Wearing “Smart Clothes” May Reduce Free Radicals

What if smart clothes had the ability to ward off free radicals?

It is possible. According to a new study published in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and Toxicology, wearing special high-tech clothes a few hours a day may reduce the impact of disease-causing free radicals on the human body and act as antioxidants.

Nanobionic, an international manufacturer of smart clothes and textiles, developed the patented technology that fights free radicals in the human body. Using innovative textiles that transform natural body energy, Nanobionic creates smart athletic apparel that improves exercise performance and overall health.

Trialed at four medical centers in Greece, Sweden and Italy, the study recruited volunteers to test the effects of using Nanobionic smart clothing on a daily basis and their connection with the human body’s aging process.

The study’s results showed beneficial effects of smart clothes reducing free radical levels in healthy people and also patients that suffered from free-radical related disorders. Results also showed that wearing Nanobionic smart clothing two hours each day for six days, reduced free radical levels by two-thirds in healthy persons. Researchers also analyzed if Nanobionic smart clothing also helped Raynaud’s syndrome and positive results were shown in the process.

Free radicals are produced everyday in the human body and overtime our antioxidant system becomes weaker. If free radicals are produced over the body’s protective ability, “oxidation stress” occurs and causes permanent cellular damage. Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, obesity and skin disease are all caused by free radicals.

Nanobionic, and other smart clothing manufacturers, are the solution to this ongoing wellness issue. With specialized patented coating, Nanobionic’s products utilize the body’s thermal energy, turn it into infrared rays and stimulate micro-circulation and metabolism during exercise performance. People obtain a good workout and keep away free radicals in the process.

“Nanobionic will revolutionize the way people will be wearing clothes in the future. We have developed a breakthrough technology that improves people’s lives in many different ways,” said Nanobionic founders George and Ermis Psipsikas.
