Organized by the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Asian Financial Forum (AFF) is Asia’s premier event for over 3,000 global financial and business leaders to exchange insights and intelligence as well as business and investment partnership opportunities.
The forum, which is scheduled for Jan. 14–15 in Hong Kong, runs concurrent with the Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winer, making it an ideal addition for companies coming to the region to identify growth strategies and connect with potential partners for business development and expansion.
Under the theme of “Creating a Sustainable and Inclusive Future,” this AFF will examine the most pressing issues of the industry, including sustainability, inclusiveness, financial stability, entrepreneurship and financial innovation. In-depth discussions will address the growth agenda for Asia and beyond. A series of InnoTalks will also hone in on technological trends and developments, including the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Grater Bay Area, FinTech, RegTech, InsurTech, virtual banking, blockchain and cyber security, providing the industry with comprehensive insights on how to leverage these innovative technologies boost competitiveness.
AFF’s Deal Flow Matchmaking Session is a central feature of the Forum. A series of matchmaking sessions pre-matches companies looking for funding with potential investors for one-on-one meetings. Interested participants can easily arrange their own one-to-one meetings with potential investors in sectors including digital technology, energy, fintech, manufacturing, clean tech and IoT at their fingertips, on an online business matching platform. Last year’s Deal Flow hosted over 600 investment matching meetings for over 500 projects, from 36 countries and regions with over 180 investors from around the world.
The InnoVenture Salon is a dedicated one-stop platform for connecting potential investors with startups. It will feature a Startup Zone to showcase 50+ promising startups; Demo Hours, for startups to present their business ideas and pitch for investors; an Investor Alley for startups to participate in individual meetings with investors; a Startup Clinic offering expert advice on building a successful business; and a series of Fireside Chats focusing on topical issues concerning the startup community.
The FinTech Showcase will also be launched at the upcoming AFF for international financial institutions and technological enterprises to present their innovative applications and cutting-edge solutions.
