For the first time ever, two key trade shows in the Americas will be held together. From July 27-29, Inexmoda will host its annual Colombiamoda and Colombiatex events at the same venue in Medellín, Colombia.

By joining forces, Colombiamoda and Colombiatex will contribute to the economic reactivation of the textile and fashion industry in a comprehensive manner. Colombiamoda is Colombia’s fashion week, while the Colombiatex textile show features upstream suppliers and solutions. Together, the two shows provide visitors a rounded view of the fashion supply chain. About 500 international and national exhibitors will meet both face-to-face and virtually with specialized buyers to carry out wholesale and export deals in categories such as textiles, supplies, machinery, full package, denim, children’s wear, formal wear, casual wear, intimates, shapewear, sleepwear, sportswear, footwear, leather goods and jewelry.

This commercial exhibition will take place simultaneously at Plaza Mayor Convention Center and digitally through the Virtual Business Platform. Since Inexmoda implemented the Virtual Business Platform for earlier events, the tool has gathered close to 25,000 business contacts. This collaborative event will integrate the entire value chain of the fashion industry, featuring sustainability as one of the main pillars of conversation.

“Inexmoda has the responsibility of leading the economic reactivation of the fashion industry; this is how the idea of uniting the power of these two leading trade shows was born,” said Carlos Eduardo Botero Hoyos, executive president of Inexmoda. “This special edition is the result of lessons learned during this new reality, and of course, of the important support of the mayor’s office of Medellín and ProColombia, who believes in the relevance of these events for the city and the country.”

Environmental sustainability: fashion’s great challenge

Inexmoda has strived to understand the impact of sustainability in the fashion industry for both brands and consumers. This will be one of the focal points of the conversation through the Sustainability Route at Colombiatex and Colombiamoda.

The event will offer various conferences, reports and digital content showcasing the new developments and practices being applied by industry brands, including the use of eco-friendly materials, water reuse, energy savings, recycling and conscious fashion.

In-person catwalks and digital staging

It’s time for a return of fashion and “face-to-face” catwalks that excite global fashion enthusiasts, who come together year after year to learn more about the creative proposals of Colombian designers and brands.

Along with the physical experience, which will follow the proper biosafety precautions, there will be a live broadcast with exclusive content. This live stream will be transmitted through www.colombiamoda.com, www.colombiatex.com, the official TV channel Telemedellín and Inexmoda’s social media platforms.

“We celebrate the Colombiatex and Colombiamoda merge for the 2021 trade shows. We believe that they will promote a speedy economic recovery of the industry through their joint leadership,” said Flavia Santoro, president of Procolombia. “In 2020, 8,000 international buyers acquired Colombian fashion products, giving us their vote of confidence, and this year with the lessons learned during the pandemic, Colombia is readier than ever to welcome international buyers to the fashion industry’s most important fair by offering sustainable and responsible fashion.”

Colombiamoda and Colombiatex are being hosted at the same venue in July 2021.

Fashion Market: Design, creativity and talent

This year’s special edition will feature the Fashion Market, an in-person and digital showcase created to generate greater reach and visibility for participating brands and offer consumer fashion products with a single click. Via the digital format, the public can immediately purchase products exhibited through audiovisual content, creating a “shopstreaming” experience. Within the in-person format, visitors will connect with emerging brands in the Fashion Market and Vogue Talents Corner.

Omnichannel knowledge for the fashion system’s fans

Inexmoda has always offered different knowledge areas in its events and projects, as it recognizes the value they have for the key actors in fashion. Maintaining this tradition, Colombiatex and Colombiamoda will have two spaces dedicated to keeping industry players updated on the business’ current challenges. One of them will be the Knowledge Pavilion®, which will feature around 15 seminars and free access discussions that can be enjoyed both at the venue and on the official event websites.

The second space, Masterclasses, Workshops and Consultancies, will be exclusively accessible in a digital format. These spaces will feature experts from the fashion industry, who will share their knowledge about the future of the fashion business and innovation with 12 training sessions.

Colombiatex and Colombiamoda 2021 will be a new omnichannel experience that will bring the fashion industry together to connect in an integral way. Through this commitment, Inexmoda aims to continue contributing to the economic reactivation of the industry via its institutional strategy.
