Messe Frankfurt Rolls Out Leather-Focused Paris Tradeshow

Messe Frankfurt is adding to its cadre of fashion industry trade shows with the introduction of Leatherworld Paris.

Designed to respond to demand for leather specific sourcing, Messe Frankfurt will debut the show Sept. 17 to 20 at Le Bourget in Paris.

“In keeping with our policy of always being attuned to the market, we observed that many visitors were aware that countries exhibiting at Apparel Sourcing Paris and Texworld Paris also have a tremendous pool of firms that produce and supply leather and leather goods,” said Michael Scherpe, president of Messe Frankfurt France.

Representatives from Pakistan, India and China, among other nations, had expressed interest in being able to include exhibitors from the leather industry in a designated venue, according to Scherpe.

“We do indeed have companies at every show who offer leather goods,” Scherpe said. “Messe Frankfurt is already the successful organizer of Leatherworld trade fair in Dubai, and a Paris version, more oriented towards materials and finished products, could prove to be a very timely response.”

Messe Frankfurt France said Leatherworld Paris will add to the appeal of its established Texworld and Apparel Sourcing fairs, as well as the spinoff Shawls & Scarves, Texworld Denim and Avantex Paris exhibitions. The launch comes just one year after the rollout of Texworld Denim.

Leatherworld Paris is targeting sectors such as fashion and leather goods manufacturers, fashion accessories retailers, leather traders, luggage and briefcase merchants, and arrange of retailers. The show will also include leather alternatives such as fake fur, accessories and synthetic leather.

Organizers said the strong performance of this venue, which is dedicated solely to denim, attests to the need to bring materials and clothing manufacturers under one roof, to achieve better synergy for businesses and make sure visitors’ to the shows can spend their time more efficiently.
