Texworld And Apparel Sourcing Kick Off 2022 With NYC Return

After bringing their physical trade shows back to the Big Apple in July, Texworld New York City and Apparel Sourcing New York City are returning again in person for the Winter 2022 edition of the combined event.

The co-located, face-to-face trade shows are designed to connect global manufacturers and suppliers to the U.S. market, ultimately creating more opportunities to support the textile sourcing community on the whole.

Registration for the events, to be held at the Jacob Javits Center from Jan. 25-27, is currently open online.

“Each year, Texworld New York City and Apparel Sourcing New York City provide a diverse offering of material innovations, the latest trends and valuable resources,” said Jennifer Bacon, show director, fashion and apparel, Messe Frankfurt, Inc. “We look forward to returning to New York City in-person with an expanded show agenda that includes vital educational sessions and even more networking opportunities for visitors to take advantage of.”

Providing a stage for the industry to explore high-quality fabrics, trims and accessories, the two events together feature over 30 product categories and host international exhibiting companies from diverse sourcing countries including Turkey, Italy, Taiwan, Korea, China and Pakistan among others. Sections within the events will be dedicated to sustainable sourcing, local sourcing and small-quantity sourcing, where exhibitors can showcase eco-friendly, low minimum order quantity (MOQ) products.

Amid the shifting trade show paradigm, where more events are operating within a hybrid environment, Texworld NYC and Apparel Sourcing NYC are bringing back a successful virtual component from the Summer 2021 iteration.

Bridging the gap between physical and virtual, The Sourcing Showroom, first introduced in July, will be incorporated both online and into show floor exhibits—enabling global suppliers to represent their products in the U.S. marketplace, particularly important for those still facing travel restrictions. The Sourcing Showroom is estimated to have 2,000 attendees, and include an estimated 30,000 product scans. Additionally, the Virtual Platform, where exhibitors can showcase their products and chat directly with online visitors, will continue to serve as an option for travel-restricted attendees.

The Sourcing Showroom lets buyers browse product samples, each of which will have a QR code linked to the Virtual Platform. By scanning the code, attendees can pull up detailed product information and schedule one-on-one video appointments with the exhibitor.

For one day only, Texworld New York City will feature a special trend presentation and tour for in-person attendees at the Trend Showcase with Kai Chow, creative director at fashion consulting service TOBE/The Doneger Group. Virtual attendees can access the Spring/Summer 2023 Trend Preview book online during and after the event.

A key element to the show, the Winter 2022 educational program features the Lenzing Seminar Series and Textile Talks, both led by speakers covering trend forecasts, industry insights, supply chain policy and transparency, circularity and market intelligence during the three-day show.

“After the successful showcase in July, I am pleased that Texworld NYC is hosting another in-person event in January at the Javits Center,” said Tricia Carey, director global business development, denim and Americas, Lenzing Group. “It is not only to see and touch textiles in person, but also to meet new suppliers and discover how the industry is adapting. Time for much needed inspiration to spark new ideas.”

Following the two New York events, powered by Messe Frankfurt, participants can be on the lookout for Texworld Evolution Paris from Feb. 7-9, 2022. The show will include four components: Texworld and  Apparel Sourcing, as well as Avantex, which is dedicated to textile and material innovation, and Leatherworld, which specifically focuses leather and related materials sourcing.
