How Texworld Evolution NYC is Taking its Winter 2023 Edition to New Heights

Texworld Evolution NYC is back and bigger than ever.

The Winter Edition event, held Jan. 31-Feb. 2, 2023 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, is meant to connect global manufacturers and suppliers to the U.S. market, ultimately creating more opportunities to help the textile community.

Since its inception in 2006, Texworld NYC has served as a place of inspiration for designers, buyers and industry professionals with exclusive trend forecasts and educational seminars hosted by leading industry professionals.

The 2023 event continues that philosophy with an expanded scope. Texworld NYC now features four co-located shows at the event, including Texworld Evolution NYC, Apparel Sourcing NYC, Global Footwear Sourcing and, for the first time, Printsource.

“The challenging last few years have proven to be a catalyst for us to regroup and explore new ways of providing value to industry professionals, as well as expanding with sought-after and diverse offerings,” said Jennifer Bacon, vice president, fashion and apparel, Messe Frankfurt Inc., the parent company of Texworld NYC. “To achieve this, we’ve entered into several notable and advantageous partnerships.”

Trends and educational showcase

Back by popular demand, the Texworld Trend Showcase will return to the show floor with the latest material innovations and color palettes for the Spring/Summer 2024 season, curated by New York-based agency Doneger | TOBE.

Additionally, along with spearheading the design for the showcase, creative director Kai Chow will offer insight into Doneger | TOBE’s four unique themes for the season—Simple Life, Earth Matters, Hybrid Nation and Halo Poetic—surrounding his vision during a one-day-only seminar.

“Reflecting on the ever-changing climate of the globally connected industry, Texworld Evolution NYC serves as a nexus for growth and the future of the largest sourcing event on the East Coast,” Bacon said. “We want the event to enable our exhibitors to stay relevant in the U.S. market and to reach/expand their target markets.”

Debuting for the first time at Texworld Evolution NYC, Printsource—a leading textile and design show founded in 1997—will have Nicki Gondell, founder of Trend House, take attendees through trend agency MOODsign’s S/S 2024 color and print trends.

“We are thrilled to welcome Printsource to the show floor,” said Bacon. “This new partnership brings not only expanded product offerings but also additional educational and networking opportunities to buyers, including new specialty trend segments within our mainstay Texworld Trend Showcase.”

Attendees can also find the latest technology trends fueling innovation within the footwear industry and take advantage of educational seminars hosted by the FDRA (Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America) at the showcase.

Sourcing Showroom makes a return

At the event, over 20 countries will be represented and exhibiting at the Winter 2023 Edition including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada, China, Cote d’lvoire, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Mongolia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom and the U.S.

Additionally, Texworld Evolution NYC is bringing back the Sourcing Showroom event to accommodate global suppliers facing travel restrictions. Launched in 2021, this platform allows global suppliers to have their products physically represented in the U.S. marketplace. Buyers at the show can then scan a specific fabric or apparel piece via QR code and instantly connect on or off-site with the supplier, even if the supplier couldn’t attend the show.

“Although the pandemic has caused some unprecedented challenges in how we operate, it has taught us to adapt and persevere through it all,” Bacon said. “Texworld Evolution NYC is a culmination of all the efforts we’ve made toward enhancing the sourcing experience for buyers.”
